I am originally from Shenzhen, China (AKA the hardware capital of the world). Growing up I had always loved building robots, whether it was LEGOS or something else, and at a young age I had already participated in numerous robotics competitions in the city. Perhaps that was when I decided to become an engineer. I lived Shenzhen until I was 14 and came to the US for school in Maryland, where I continued my pursuit for STEM. In high school, I was a part of the PLTW Program and a member of a FIRST Robotics team (Team 9802). Having so much experience with STEM had only made me love it more.

I decided to go into college as a Mechanical Engineer. Although it is difficult at times, I enjoy my major very much, and I always push myself to do more outside of class. I am a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at Northeastern University, and I am a member of the Robotics Team as well. I am also involved in Intramural Basketball, Club Running and Asian Student Union. I am eager to contribute to the local community. I have organized and participated in numerous community service and fundraising events. Besides engineering, I love travelling, working out, swimming and running, watching basketball and football and following politics. Ever since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had not been able to do many of the things I love to do. But the tough times have also made me realize how precious life is and how fortunate I am, motivating me to always become the best version of myself. When the pandemic is over, I hope to start travelling again and visit every country on earth.
